Effective from 15 April 2026. This policy applies to all bookings made on RideShareSA.
| When you cancel | Refund | Details |

| Before payment | No charge | Bookings in "Pending Payment" can be cancelled freely — no money has been collected. |
| 48+ hours before trip | Full refund | 100% of the booking amount is refunded. Card payments are reversed automatically; EFT refunds are processed within 5–7 business days. |
| 24–48 hours before trip | 50% refund | Half the booking amount is refunded. The remaining 50% compensates the host for the short-notice cancellation. |
| Less than 24 hours / during trip | No refund | Cancellations within 24 hours of the trip start or after the trip has begun are not eligible for a refund. |
Processing fees charged by payment providers (Yoco, bank fees) are non-refundable in all cases.
If you believe a cancellation or refund decision is incorrect, open a support ticket within 7 days of the cancellation. Include your booking ID and a brief explanation.
Our team may request additional evidence (messages, photos, receipts). Disputes are typically resolved within 3 business days.
